I'm a musician, composer, and producer, and one of the internationally-renowned Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. As well as performing with the Ukulele Orchestra, I write and perform my own music as Will Grove-White & The Others, composing tunes for film and TV.
I have what I am told is an eccentric singing style, which has variously been described as:
- "Worth traveling a thousand miles to hear." The Independent
- "Mind-bendingly brilliant." BBC Radio 2
- "Suitably insane-sounding." New York Times
I began playing and singing in the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain in 1989, when I was 16. Since then we've recorded ten albums, two concert DVDs, and toured the world, notably playing sell-out concerts at the BBC Proms in London's Royal Albert Hall (2009 and 2012), New York City's Carnegie Hall (2010 and 2012) and the Sydney Opera House (2012).
My career began behind the camera, when I directed and produced some award-winning TV programmes (as well as some rubbish) but these days I happily count myself as one of the only people on the planet making a living via the ukulele.
If you'd prefer all this was written in the 3rd person, as seems to be popular on other websites, click here.
This will make it appear as if one of my adoring minions has been writing this stuff, not me.
