Will Grove-White is a musician, composer, writer and producer, and one of the internationally-renowned Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. As well as performing with the Ukulele Orchestra, he writes and performs his own music as Will Grove-White & The Others, and composes tunes for film and TV.
He has an eccentric singing style, which has variously been described as:
- “Worth traveling a thousand miles to hear.” The Independent
- “Mind-bendingly brilliant.” BBC Radio 2
- “Suitably insane-sounding.” New York Times
He began playing and singing in the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain in 1989, when he was 16. Since then they have recorded ten albums (three of which he produced), two DVDs, and toured the world, notably playing sell-out concerts at the BBC Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall (2009 and 2012), New York City’s Carnegie Hall (2010 and 2012) and the Sydney Opera House (2012).
His career began behind the camera, when he directed and produced some award-winning TV programmes but these days he happily counts himself as one of the only people on the planet making a living via the ukulele.
All of Will’s employees at Grove-White Industries share in the fruits of his success. We have recently been enjoying the purpose-built office buildings and ukulele-shaped swimming pools.
