Formed in a back garden in Brixton, South London, The Pocket Orchestra uses only instruments that can comfortably fit into a carrier bag. We are Ali Milne-Tyte on mandolin and vocals, Paul Parsons on the mini organ, Pete Gibbons on the bonsai bass and Will Grove-White on ukulele and vocals.
This diminutive ensemble’s performances are joyful occasions, and audiences always warm to the sound of our vertically challenged instruments. Indeed they often find themselves joining in with spontaneous whooping, community singing, and standing ovations. We take great pride in our compact arrangements and bijoux reinterpretations of colossal tunes.
Come and listen to beautifully shambolic orchestrations and prepare to get your toes tapping. From The Prodigy to Bonnie Tyler via Prince and Chas ‘n’ Dave, there’s something for everyone. We perform regularly at The Bird House Brewery in Herne Hill, London SE24.
