Cherry Soprano #4 – SOLD

Description

Soprano
[ #4 ]

The soprano is my personal favourite size of uke: small but perfectly formed. The neck meets the body at the 12th fret. Built to my own design (but inspired by the old Martin uke), it has power, volume, and a sweet tone, making it the perfect rhythm ukulele.

Pete Howlett once told me he thought that cherry was the English Koa (the traditional Hawaiian ukulele wood) and I completely agree - more ukuleles should be made from it. Cherry is wonderful to work with and beautiful to look at. It has a really bright and warm sound which this uke demonstrates.

This was one of the first ukuleles I made (and so dosen't contain a tiny person). It has a couple of minor flaws, (one on the side, one at the base of the neck) which are both pictured. With a rosewood fretboard, and holly binding, this one sounds really fantastic. 14 frets, Der Jung geared tuners and Aquila strings.

It measures roughly 54cm (length), 16cm (widest width) and 5cm (depth).
