The soprano is my personal favourite size of uke: small but perfectly formed. The neck meets the body at the 12th fret. Built to my own design (but inspired by the old Martin uke), it has power, volume, and a sweet tone, making it the perfect rhythm ukulele.
Mahogany is a great material for making ukuleles - it was the Martin Guitar Company's wood of choice when they made their classic ukes. This mahogany was recycled from an old tabletop and gives a wonderful sound. This is a really beautiful instrument and is finished in Tru Oil to give a slightly glossy finish. It sounds absolutely terrific, with a sweet tone and a powerful punch when you need it. 14 frets, Der Jung geared tuners and Aquila Strings.
It measures roughly 54cm (length), 16cm (widest width) and 5cm (depth).
