Oak Soprano #51 – SOLD

Description

Soprano
[ 51 ]

The soprano is my personal favourite size of uke: small but perfectly formed. The neck meets the body at the 12th fret. Built to my own design (but inspired by the old Martin uke), it has power, volume, and a sweet tone, making it the perfect rhythm ukulele.

This was a commission and is a beautiful brown oak soprano ukulele, or Oakulele. After playing this you'll be wondering why more ukes aren't made from oak because it gives such a lively bright sound. I was given the wood by a carpenter friend of mine in London who had it left over from a job he'd been doing. It had been destined for his fireplace...

The body and neck are all brown oak and the fretboard and bridge are walnut. This is a really great soprano ukulele and a wonderful one-of a kind talking point. 12 frets, Gotoh UPT tuners, Aquila Strings.

It measures roughly 54cm (length), 16cm (widest width) and 5cm (depth).
