A bonsai ukulele, just a mouthful that won’t fill you up. I’ve been a tiny ukulele ambassador since I was first given one in the early 2000’s by Hans Türing, a German uke enthusiast. I went on to feature micro-sized ukes in the Ukulele Orchestra show for many years. My sopranino ukuleles bring together everything I love about ukuleles and tiny things: a loud, punchy ukulele which you can fit in your pocket but are extremely playable.
This one has yew front, sides and back, an oak neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The sound really cuts through - very bright and crisp - and makes a terrific addition to any ukulele group.
I like to use Aquila iUke strings tuned to either an octave above a baritone ukulele (dGBE) or, if you like it really high, an octave above a regular ukulele (gCEA) - just make sure you have a spare A string!
It measures roughly 43cm (length), 13cm (widest width) and 5cm (depth). Gotoh UPT tuners.
