Will Grove-White & The Others is a musical project by Will Grove-White, one of the internationally renowned Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. Will has been playing in the Orchestra
since 1989, when he was 16, but he has recently written and recorded his own album, with the help of some ace musicians.
Will was inspired by artists such as the Mills Brothers, Jim Henson, Louis Jordan, Tom
Waits, Paul Spooner and Aretha Franklin. Indeed, the album brings to mind the foggy night in Shepherds Bush when Louis Prima
and Hoagy Carmichael sang bluegrass harmonies to Sid James. NEWS! You can now get hold of Will's album
as a Library CD from Atmosphere Music on Universal (www.unippm.co.uk). It's been re-named 'Pocket Eccentrics',
catalogue number ATMOS254. Anyone found to use it qualifies for a free kazoo...
Will’s singing has been described as: “Worth travelling a thousand miles
to hear.” The Independent “Brilliant.” The Oldie "Weird." BBC Radio 2 "Suitably insane-sounding."
New York Times
As well as Will Grove-White on Vocals and
Ukulele, 'The Others' include the wonderful Ben Castle on Clarinet, Max de Wardener on Double Bass, Dan Teper on Melodica,
Pat Levett on Cardboard Boxes, and a host of others, including the entire Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (but not playing
their Ukuleles).
Whether you enjoy the Musical Saw solos,
the virtuoso Whistling, or the thumping Tuba basslines, you can be sure to leave contented. In these often bleak and gloomy
times, 'Will Grove-White & The Others' offer up a small helping of joy. Grab a plate and tuck in.

A Short History of Will: Will was born in Hammersmith, London, in 1973. After a brief spin on the piano, he
settled on the ukulele, inspired by the right hand of George Formby and the vocal noodlings of Cliff Edwards. Will joined
the Ukulele Orchestra in 1990 (aged 17), and had to get the day off school to do his first gig, performing on Pebble Mill
at One. Will soon began singing with the Friends of Deeky, a punk/funk outfit with filmmaker Moritz Bauman, composer Max de
Wardener and philosopher Mike Fara. He wore a bowler hat and jumped around a lot, singing such memorable titles as 'Fanny
Magnet' and 'Pube'. He went on to form the fabulous Kenyan Tea Corporation with tea chest bass player George Ferguson,
whilst doing a degree in Social Anthropology. From there he went on to begin a short-lived career in television during which
he filmed (among other things) a male strip show in a Kilmarnock golf club, a scientist running across a vat of cornflower
and water mixture, a piano player having brain surgery, and an armless man cage-fighting with a wrestler. Sadly, Will no longer
carries his London Underground 'Safety on the Track' Certificate.
